Construction Phase Overview

Arrow Phase 1
Phase 1 construction also includes the widening of 0.52 miles of U.S. Route 22/State Route 3 from two lanes to four lanes; widening of 0.33 miles of Airborne Road; and a 600-foot extension east of existing State Route 73 to connect to the relocated State Route 73.

Construction on Phase 1 began in early 2007 and is expected to be completed in April 2008 at a cost of $8.5 million.

Arrow General Traffic Information
Thru traffic will be maintained during Phase 1 construction with the exception of Denver Road, which is closed. There is the possibility of short-term daily lane closures on State Route 73 and U.S. Route 22/State Route 3 and intermittent lane closures on Airborne Road.

The work zone speed limit is 55 miles per hour. Please remember to drive smart and minimize distractions when in a work zone. Obey all signs; be alert for slow-moving construction vehicles; and keep a safe distance from the car in front of you.

Arrow Phase 2
Work on Phase 2, which will run 3.66 miles from U.S. 22/State Route 3 to U.S. Route 68, is expected to begin in spring 2008 for completion in fall 2009. The estimated cost for Phase 2 is $43 million.

Arrow Phase 3
Phase 3 construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2009 for completion in fall 2010. It will include 2.42 miles from U.S. 68 to State Route 73 at an estimated cost of $23 million.
